June 07, 2003Updates Are In PlaceThe long promised updates are now in place. As promised, I am also going to provide some commentary on what was done and why. First, a note of regret. I have dropped the Belligerent Bunny because of a lack of posting. This is a shame as it was a good blog on two fronts: It provided some refreshing and challenging thought, and it also supported bunny rescue. I approve very much of animal rescue of all types, and this was a very nice service that I hate to see go. Now to the fun stuff, the additions. My first addition is the wonderful Gaggle of Gals (and one Guy). A great site with different posters, different takes, and some good food for thought. Not to mention just fun to go through. They will now take over the coveted bottom position, in place of Little Tiny Lies. The coveted top position, of course, remains with my Blogfather. I replaced the Bunny with a Tiger, specifically Tiger: Raggin' & Rantin'. This is a new blog for me, but the Gaggle liked it and he has posted a time or two on my blog. What I have read of this blog has been good, so it is added. At long last, I have added the Tobacco Road Fogey. He was kind enough to give me a link early on, and it is about time I returned the favor. A good read, so go check it out. I have also added poster MommaBear, who has a site On The Third Hand. I am also pleased to add Sgt. Hook, another contributor of comments who also has a good blog. Along with Sgt. Hook comes The Mind of Man, who posts some very provocative and well presented pieces. Besides, anyone who starts with that wonderful quote of Jefferson’s is one to watch. Truth Laid Bear is also up for several reasons. It is a good blog and well worth the read. Also, I am now listed in the ecosystem portion and seem to be moving up a bit. Who knows where it will end. Another interesting read is mtpolitics. Some good thoughtful posts, some humor, and a lot of good links. The Smallest Minority seems to have some very good gun/2nd Amendment posts, so they have been added as well. Andrew Sullivan and the Volokh Conspiracy are both being added. Thoughtful, well put, and many other adjectives apply. An interesting blog is being added just for fun today, The Dead Parrot Society. Anyone who references Monty Python has got to have something on the ball, and they seem to have some very good material on The Media and such. They also provided me a link to The Scoop, a blog that looks at investigative and computer-assisted reporting. Interesting. Another site added is One Fine Jay. He is trying a new layout and having fun, and so can you by checking him out. The Iowa Libertarian also posts some fun stuff and had fun with the Wag the Lynch Story as well. His ongoing fisking of a local (fifth?) columnist is quite amusing and good. For those interested in such things, there are some other resources, aside from the ecosystem, out there for tracking links and such. I use Technorati a good bit, and just found one called Organica which is interesting. It has not updated my site in quite a while, but did let me know that I was being traded on Blogshares. This was news to me and I must ask why I didn’t get any shares as part of an IPO. That is it for now. Enjoy the new links, and explore. If you find something new and interesting, let me know so I can check it out too. Thanks to all of you who read me, and to those of you who link to me as well. -30- Comments Thanks for the kind words and the link! Posted by: mtpolitics at June 8, 2003 03:11 PMYou are most welcome!
