Reader Query: Layout/Design Software
Anyone out there have any experience with Adobe InDesign? If so, how does it compare to PageMaker, Quark, and similar programs? My old OS9 PageMaker is kaput along with OS9, so I am looking to get some new software, pref. something that will open PageMaker documents. Any thoughts or suggestions?

InDesign is far superior. Far more robust and as you say it works under OS X.
My forthcoming book was finished in it --- the PM 7.0 files freaked out ID was able to open them.
As I remember, FrameMaker will open PageMaker pages. PageMaker is kind of like Frame's idiot cousin. I know that the interface is about the same, as when Adobe acquired Frame, they modeled Page off it.
