I Do Believe That Was A Warning…

On several levels and fronts. Not sure who wrote the President’s speech, but it as a good one and a worthy follow-on to his post 9-11 speech. There is a lot to think about in what was said.

First, the UN and most specifically France and Germany were given a warning. They have the opportunity and responsibility to participate. If they choose not to, there will be consequences.

Second, the nations who have promised or paid lip service will be dunned. Two major funding conferences to be held, those should be interesting.

Third, America will stay the course and will lead the charge. This is right and proper, as was the reminder of what has been said all along: this is a new type of war to be fought in many ways and on many fronts. I admit relief that the UN will not be in charge, and that he has reconfirmed himself to previous pledges.

I am not happy as a Citizen on many fronts, particularly with the President and his party. They have abandoned their ideals and goals on many fronts, and in effect joined with the Democrats to be the Republicrats. As an independent, this bothers me a great deal since there really is no difference between the two on most fronts. So far, the only difference has been the war, repeat WAR, on terror. That is a huge difference, and it is the one that makes all the difference to me.

We are at war and we need to prosecute it to the fullest extent possible. Bush has just re-pledged himself to it, and given encouragement and warning to our “friends” and our foes. Now to sit back and watch the spin begin in The Media…
