E-Mail Hoax: Earthlink/John Williams

5{ again another scam e-mail going the rounds, and just like the E-bay and related ones, it is attempting to gather your credit card and related information. This one comes from "John Williams" and is supposedly from Earthlink.

Please, please, please: Never respond to any one of these, no matter who it seems to be from. Always check with the company in question by phone to verify any request for info, notification of a problem, etc. Never give out personal info, credit card info, or other financial info in response to any e-mail. You wouldn't do it on the phone with a stranger, would you?

As a note to Earthlink subscribers, you can always forward such messages -- with full headers -- to junkmail@earthlink.net.

Be safe out there!
