Yeah it can be tough for people to accept that leadership is more than telling people what to do...and teamwork is more than simply being part of a group.
Loyalty isn't just a bottom up process; it can't be and engender the dedication that an organization like the military (in any branch of service) needs to function at the top of the heap. It's nice to hear about a good example of how it should be.
Wouldn't you like to know that your boss would defend you at great personal risk to his/her own career? How far would you go for them in return if that were the case?
