Ceramic Brake Pads?

This is a food for thought request on any personal experience with ceramic disc brake pads as opposed to semi-metallic pads. My car will need new brakes very soon, and I am considering all options, so would very much love to hear from anyone with good or bad experience with ceramic pads. Thanks!

I just had them put on my 1992 Taurus. What I liked was that they "move" (flex?) more, so braking time and pressure are reduced. I assumed it was just the new pads in general, but when I asked the mechanic, he told me that the new ceramics are more fluid and mate with the disc surface more solidly...better friction. It's a significant improvement in my car.

AND no brake dust either. Not that my 1992 Taurus is blingin' the dub-dub Spreewel Spinners or anything. :)

Yeah, I could have spelled his name a little worse...that's Sprewell. I need a nap. ::mumblegrumble::

I will never again use ceramic pads simply because they are harder than the rotors and when they wear out you have to spend extra money to replace the rotors. Pads are expendable parts ,rotors are supposed to last longer.
