I'm with you on both choices, though Big Jake edges out Hatari. My #1 pick, though is a three-way tie: True Grit, Rooster Cogburn, and The Shootist.

Boy, that's a tough call. There's just too many flavors of movie The Duke made to have one overall favorite.

For his westerns, it's a tie between 'The Cowboys' and 'True Grit', with 'The Searchers' and 'Red River' close behind. For his WWII movies, probably 'Sands of Iwo Jima' or 'They Were Expendable'.
For the Cavalry flicks, (kind of a cross between the westerns and the war flicks, I know...) 'Fort Apache' would get the nod.
