No, It Was Not A Computer Problem
Just a day devoted to moving preparations and routine maintenance and backup. Well, not as routine as it should be and it was so much fun dealing with recalcitrant software that wasted a lot of time. The compression program labored for hours on a relatively small file as such things go, only to proudly tell me “ah, yup, yup, yup, hee hee hee, I saved you a whole thirteen percent space, duhhhhhhhhhhh” In real life with a real employee, this is grounds for termination with cause, if not outright termination (You spent a full work day just doing one game of tic tac toe?! Ka-Snick). Fortunately, I was much more productively occupied, and likely will be again today. The other good news is that the full backup was completed despite the software (and the bad news is that I was reminded that I really, really, need 1-2 new external hard drives in excess of 60Gb each) along with the first round of CD/DVD backups. More later when and if I can, as I try to meet the impossible goal of being almost completely packed by Sunday. BTW, more stuff will be added today to the online yard and moving sale.
