Packing Away

My friends will know what this truly means: All major kitchen packing is complete. What they will not believe is how few boxes it took. Then again, the boxes are a bit heavy…

I had no idea that I had 6-8 two-cup measuring cups, or 6-8 one-cup measuring cups; I found some cookware I thought was long gone and will either be sold or given to charity; and, I found a few other items I had almost forgotten. The hard part has been to come down to a reasonable amount to take to the extended stay – I am taking my own cookware despite the fact that they provide some.

The hard part of yesterday was having, having I say, to cook up a whole fois gras that had been too long in the freezer. Not bad, the vacuum pack helped, but still needs a bit of help. Smoked paprika and some extra salt did the trick nicely… Today and tomorrow are the office – think kind thoughts for me.
