Desperate Convention Coverage

Had to go run some errands, so caught lunch out and of course there was a television going in the dining area. Bleh. It was tuned to the Communist News Network, not a big surprise in hometown Atlanta, and I was struck by desperation in Wolf Blitzer's voice. Every other line was on how close the race was; most of the talking was being done by people from Kerry's campaign and the poor token Republican seemed to get minimal time and always cut by the commercial break; and, news and fact were being carefully ignored. To hear them tell it, Kerry was in the lead, Kerry was commanding, Kerry was so very... You would never know that the polls were opening and that Kerry was slipping, or that any portion of his record in war or in the Senate was in question, or that... If it were not for the desperation, it would have been good spin. But the desperation was there, and the panic was obvious. Media credibility continues to decline, and they honestly wonder why.
