That Wasn't Oratory

The VP's speech was a conversation rather than oratory, but it finished laying out the platform against Kerry. From what has been said, the campaign is going to take Kerry up on his request. Kerry made four months of service in Vietnam the centerpiece of his campaign, ignored the 20 plus years in the Senate, and then said it was not fair to say anything against his service. So, I think they are going to move on and take on the black hole the Kerry campaign has tried to ignore and hide: his record in the senate. The platform has been laid out by almost every speaker before, and the VP put down the flooring last night. It will be interesting to see if the Kerry campaign continues to go with the Big Lie defense on such easily verifiable facts.

UPDATE: You know, it would be a good idea to avoid having Bush give a speech. He should just have a conversation tonight, something he does well.
