Wolf ThreatCon: Up

I have previously talked about the next attack on the U.S. here and here. Well, seems the Feds are worried too. I am going from my half-tank gas rule up to 3/4 tank, as in fill when it hits that level, and I am checking my preparations. There is no need to panic, but there is a need to be vigilant and to take reasonable precautions. Spain proved to our enemies that such attacks work, and they have every reason to believe that it will work here, so be careful out there.

I don't if I'm being optimistic or delusional but I don't really see an attack happening before the election. I think the terrorist would be smart enough to know an attack will band everyone together and show how much leadership Bush has, undecideds would vote for Bush and most likely win. I don't see it going in Kerry's favor at all.

But maybe I'm giving the terrorist to much credit.

What do you think?

As stated in the previous posts, I disagree. They think it WILL work, because of Spain and because of what they are hearing out of the left -- and a number of people in government who know better than to say what is being said. While I think it will ultimately backfire, I also think it could swing the election to their desired candidate, because I guarantee the Old Media and the DNC will do everything they can for that. For both, I think, are far more interested in partisan politics than in what is right, best, or even ethical.

I knew something was up security wise. My firm has had everyone practicing drills at every location under various scenarios for the past month.

In addition, all the kits on each floor are installed, tested and ready to be used.

I have a go bag at work, and one at home. It's the inbetween, like on the subway as I ride under the river, where I'm most vulnerable. That part I leave in God's hands. For the rest I'm prepared.

Interesting question, which way people would vote in the event of an attack. I think most undecided people would wait to see who comes out toughest and what rhetoric the liberals lobby at them.

In the meantime, I'll just continue practicing our evac and emergency procedures.

I am so out of touch. Since the Spain incident I've been telling people that we needed to be careful as the election draws near. I read this and realize, "Wait! It's almost here!" I'm living in such a fog with all this bad weather I cannot even keep up.

Michele, I am glad to here what you are saying! Would love to see that in more cities, particularly Chicago, LA, Dallas, and Atlanta.

Bou, you've had a bit to contend with, and a lot more immediate concerns. We will think and worry on this, you just deal with those pesky visitors of yours. Give the boys a big hug for me, and if all of you need to bug out, drop me a line.
