2004 Weblog Awards

While I am disappointed that several I nominated did not make it, here is my take on the categories in which I voted. If I was not familiar with any of the blogs in a category, I did not vote, nor did I vote if I did not like any of the choices in a catetgory. Several were very, very hard choices. Thanks to the childishness of some, you do have to go to some effort to vote, but it is worth it for a fair election.

Best Overall Blog: Instapundit
Best New Blog: My Pet Jawa
Best Group Blog: Hog On Ice
Best Conservative Blog: Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler
Best Election Coverage: The Command Post
Best Media/Journalist Blog: Michelle Malkin
Best Culture Blog: A Small Victory
Best Military Blog: Sgt. Hook
Best Blog Design: Cold Fury
Best (and most missed) Essayist: USS Clueless
Best Canadian Blog: Being American In T.O.
Best UK Blog: Samizdata
Best European Blog: The Dissident Frogman
Best Australian or New Zealand Blog: Chrenkoff
Best Latino, Caribbean, or South American Blog: Babalu Blog
Best of the Top 100: Politburo Dikat
Best of 100-250: Bad Example
Best of 250-500: On The Third Hand
Best of 1,000-1,750: Boudicca’s Voice
Best of 3,500-5,000: Chapomatic

Please note that no bribes were offered or accepted for any of these, darn it. Cash and female human companionship are the best bribes (non-human female companionship provided by a very jealous temporary boss Clara). Go vote, and if you have time and high-speed, check out the blogs with which you are not familiar, for there are many good ones there.

You know, the Mrs. and I have plenty of Cubanita friends that we can hook you up with. I mean, that's if you like really hot latin babes.

Given how hard I fell for a Cubanita in grade school, talk to me my friend. :)

How do you feel about women in grass skirts, I might be able to "hook" you up (yes, pun intended).

GROAN! Well, so long as the hook has no barbs, there was a beautiful young lady who was part of the dance team at the last luau I went to in Honolulu...
