December 12, 2004A Joy For The SeasonAs I said the other day, I am on the road so blogging may be sparse for a while. This is more than just routine business, in that an entity has decided they want my services full time. Full time starting 2 January. Full time several hundred miles from Huntsville or the temporary lair in Atlanta. Right now, I am not too far south of Chicago with about two days to find a place to live. I will then have just a couple of days to move, given what the holidays are going to do to offices, including those needed to be sure I have heat. I can make my own light, cook, and do a lot more without power, but heat is a must. This is also complicated by the fact that I am having to do it all and front all the move funding, and this comes on top of other obligations. In short, life is interesting, but it is so in a good way. I have right now two excellent choices for abode, one an apartment and one a house, and have been offered another house that is not quite up to the first two but is not bad at all. I really want the house, as it is quite nice and the landlords a delight, but given time and monetary constriants, just don't see it happening. Besides, I would be very tempted to do things in and around it, and that money would be better spent securing my own house and not doing up a rental. So, unless something else comes up I will probably be getting the apartment. Once that is done, I have to see what I am going to do about the actual moving. My desire is to have it all done by this next Saturday, but that depends on many factors including how many friends So, if things are a bit sparse, please be patient as I have a number of posts on which I am working. There is more on the Enlightenment and how it is affecting everything from government to child development theories. There is much more on journalism and the coming war. There is more, including a very overdue book review on the so-far excellent The Genomics Age as well as a number of fiction reviews. Your continued readership, along with your patience, is much appreciated. LW Posted by wolf1 at December 12, 2004 02:53 PM | TrackBackComments Congratulations on the full time position! Congrats! And I'll keep checking back because I'll be a little slow through the holidays as well. ;-) Posted by: vw bug at December 12, 2004 10:59 PMThanks! I am looking forward to it, though maybe not to the weather up here. Posted by: Laughing Wolf at December 13, 2004 11:58 AMComments are Closed. |
