Into The Light: Frank Kelly Freas

Noted artist Frank Kelly Freas passed into the light this morning. I've just spoken with his daughter, who was with him when he passed, and services are pending at Oakwood Memorial Park in/near Los Angeles. Best known for his award-winning science fiction art, his work covered many subjects and styles. May the light shine on his daughter, grandchildren, wife, and all those left behind.

I never realised how much of his artwork I have. My condolences to his family.

Kelly's funeral is tomorrow, January 3, 2005, at Kingsley and Gates Mortuary, 6909 Canoga Ave, at 1 PM. After the services there will be a procession to Oakwood Memorial Park.

A memorial will be held at the Los Angeles Science Fantasy Society some weekend in the near future. More details will appear, among other places, on my blog, as they become available.
