Sponsor Me Or The Gnome Gets It!

Right in the jewels. Okay, I posted on Monday 4 April about my taking part in National Volunteer Week and no one came forward with a pledge. Not a comment, not an e-mail, nothing. Okay, you had your chance and blew it. Start coughing up, or the blogmeet gnome has an "accident."

I am taking part in "Pledge To Inspire," otherwise known as National Volunteer Week, and am seeking pledges and sponsors. Since I am doing it for Wolf Park and it is near Lafayette, the sponsoring organization is the Greater Lafayette Volunteer Bureau. Wolf Park you know of from here. GLVB takes parts in many efforts throughout the year, including working to match elderly and/or disabled individuals with volunteer assistance, helping local agencies fulfill their donation and volunteer needs, and doing the Leaders of Tomorrow program.

The process is simple, and relatively painless (for all but the gnome, that is). You can make a flat pledge ($5, $10, $20, etc.) and send a check for that amount made out to "Greater Lafayette Volunteer Bureau." Or, if you feel generous and lucky, you can pledge an amount based on the number of hours I volunteer the week of 10-16 April, with a check again made out to "Greater Lafayette Volunteer Bureau" to be sent once the number of hours is known. The choice is yours.

As an added incentive, if someone cares to make a donation that is in excess of all the other contributions combined, they get the gnome to do with as they will. Grau, are you listening? Of course, if no one makes any contributions...

UPDATE: For those who are concerned about where to send, and that it reach the right people, here is your information.

Make checks payable to "Greater Lafayette Volunteer Bureau" and note on the check that it is for the Laughing Wolf Volunteer Pledge Drive. Then, mail to:

Wolf Park
Battle Ground, IN 47920
ATTN: Laughing Wolf Volunteer Pledge Drive

Thank you to all those who have already made a pledge!

I'll sponsor you, but only *if* the gnome gets it. Those little buggers are scary! Or hey, maybe you could auction off the first shot... ;)

Sorry, hon. Wish I had the dough to do it right now. Perhaps once I'm flush again. You know I love volunteerism!

Okay, I'm game. You volunteer and I'll give an amount that's commensurate with your volunteer efforts. If you let me know the # of expected hours, I'll be more concrete in my pledge.

Sorry I didn't come by to visit monday, it was a busy day.

.. hey, man.. I am unemployed... and still, I am with jlb... double-tap the gnome, and we'll talk about money...

is it just me or does the date say April 16 and if that is the case why arent you talkin about how much money you are recieving from all the cool tax cuts and complaining as to why there arent more? just a thought..

For all those who want the gnome offed, see above as it will take a contribution in excess of all other contributions combined. :)

AJ, just you and stay on topics. Tax cuts? Has nothing to do with this, so put up a pledge to go with where your mouth is. To answer the obvious, it has the date so that it stays at the top. The time to list all that comes in is a day or three after the end, once all the checks have arrived and been tallied.

To all: Thanks! Right now, the Bad Example Family Rocks! They lead the way on pledges.

Put me down for the number of hours between April 10 - 16.

(The shortbread was that good.)
