Tech Question: Insight Cable and FTP

I have a cable modem at the lair and am on Insight broadband. When I go to FTP, I get in but can never get a file list. Any ideas or suggestions?

Do you have permission to list the files in that directory? Have you been able to do it in the past or is this the first time? Are you doing an 'ls' or a 'dir'? You are welcome to email me.

There was one FTP program I used for a while that wouldn't show any older files - a glitch of some sort. (I think it was CuteFTP, but don't quote me on that.)

Yeah, you have to have permission to list the files. Depending on the set up - you may have to ftp into an initial directory and then change directories (cd) in order to get to your files. Just a thought.

Did you get this resolved?

Another thing you might look at is making sure that your FTP client is running in Passive Mode. Sometimes firewalls and NAT can screw up regular mode FTP.
