Rain

Last night was a great show. We are really in a drought here, and the farmers are feeling it. Yards are turning brown and grass dying. Last week, when it looked like we might get rain one night, I ran around like a madman putting out weed and feed on the yard -- only to see the skies clear. Could have sworn I heard a "Ha Ha Fooled You" from on high...

I wasn't expecting anything last night, but a front clearly came through with rain and one heck of a lightning show. Power went out for an hour or two, but I just lay in bed and watched the light show. Some hit close, others didn't. Didn't matter -- it was still beautiful to watch. Can't wait to do that in the new lair...

who hopes for enough rain to nurture lawn and finally activate the weed and feed...

And here I am hoping it will dry up long enough that my garden will recover from all the fungal diseases... My tomato plants are rotting... sigh. Luckily we have more than one growing season here... I can plant some more later.

You just can't beat Nature's light shows... I used to stand outside watching the lighting until it either got too close, or the rain started coming down too hard. Still do on some occasions.
