Blog Sabbath

Not sure what they are/were, but came up in the middle of the yard while I was in Baltimore. Below are a few I have planted.

Fall is in the air, and the flowers soon shall be no more.

Hmmm - if you have a pic of that top set from above, I might be able to identify them for you - they look vaguely familiar.

The top one looks like Crocus Sativus - Saffron Crocus; it's hard to see the stamens in your picture, they should be an intense yellow-orange as they are the source of the spice saffron. There are several other fall blooming crocuses (and the related colchicums) that are of similar color, so it could be one of them too.
