Hurricane Wilma: The Morning After

I can't begin to do this justice, so will settle for just a quick tour of friends and those I know:

VW and family came through okay, minor damage, and power is back up.

Bou and family took roof damage, all (?) trees down, and had their well-head damaged when a neighbor failed to secure a slide set.

While she hasn't posted, word is that Lee Ann and family are okay.

Val and his beautiful wife are okay, but took major roof damage and lots of downed trees. He is back up courtesy of a generator, but will be tied up cleaning up for a while.

Amanda and family are reported by Val to be okay.

George L. Moneo is also reported by Val to be okay.

Steve, well, what can I say...

SarahK and Frank are okay, though word is that Frank has turned into a cat...

Kathy at On The Third Hand is okay, no word on her abode.

Rand is in California, but Patricia is at home without power. No further information yet available.

Velociman appears to be just fine.

Key West does not look good from reports. Quick search does not show any new posts from Key West bloggers, I hope someone proves me wrong.

I've also "met" a number of new Florida bloggers this weekend, and hope they are all okay. Consider this an invitation to post a comment or link back to let us all know how you are doing.

Meantime, hyku blog is doing some good round ups.

Let's keep all of them in our thoughts and prayers today, and be prepared to dig in and provide what help we can in the days ahead.

My husband and I live in Sarasota and we are ok. Just lots of tree branches that we have to clear away. Our neighbor had some tiles off their roof in addition to tree branches.
Our lights were only out for a short time about an hour.

Thanks for the update on all our fellow bloggers, particularly Kathy, in the Hurricane Zone. I am relieved to know so many are safe.

It was a close call (we live in Bonita Springs), but we emerged unscathed except for a couple of palm trees that snapped in half but caused no property damage. A few miles south of here -- in Naples -- it's a different story.

We were without electricity for only 8 hours.

This time, unlike with Charlie, our pool cage is still in one piece.

Thanks, LW! I'm sure the Key West-ers are okay. The problem is the phone lines and electrical run from the main land, so they are simply incommunicado.
I'm sure they'll find way to get the word out soon.

Hey, LW, I heard on the radio this afternoon that approx. 20,000 customers have their electricity back in the Keys. That leaves about 6,000. I'm sure we'll be hearing from KW bloggers soon.

I was worried about Kathy too.

We're cool here. We were ready. I figure every year I'm just destined to throw gobs of money at our roofer. This is the 2nd year in a row we've received this type of damage.

We have a tree guy coming tomorrow to try to salvage one tree, the others, he's hacking apart. All Palm trees stayed upright. I think I've got the Palm tree religion, as much as I hate them.

We have 2 major trees left standing, outside the palms. Maybe my motto should be 'trees are highly over rated... as are roofs'. Let's just hope we're done for the year.

And THANK YOU for all you have done, LW. I cannot thank you enough.
