January 13, 2006Wolf Fest 06?The Howl On The Prowl? Okay, so we do have a few interested. Before I proceed further, here are some options, and I want to see what real interest there may be. First, I talked with the managing director out at Wolf Park, and she is willing to go along. Even though the park is closed right now (except for Howl Nights), we can do something one Saturday. We may also get drafted into doing work around the park, but you pays your money and you takes your chances. Whether we work or not, the fee (chosen by me, not the park) per person will be $10, which covers the tour, includes Howl Night that night, and a very small donation to the park. At least one staff member is willing to join in the fun, and we may be able to entice one or two more... Second, unless we have ten or more show up, I will not try to block rooms at a hotel. I will be glad to recommend one near Wolf Park that offers a Wolf Park discount, or another nice hotel in Lafayette, but unless and until that will be it. Third, if we really want to see the wolves at their most active, we should do this in February or very early March. So, which Saturday in February would work best for most people? Fourth, for a quick dinner between the afternoon and the start of Howl Night, we have a couple of options. We could see if it might be possible to do hamburgers and brats out at Wolf Park, or we could go someplace to eat. What would you like to do? Finally, I can also put in a reservation for post Howl Night at Lafayette Brewing. The food is good, the stout is great, and the rest of the brews are not bad. I don't think it will hold up to Fritz's, but it will do. Okay, what say you? LW Comments I'll have to check with the ol' ball and er... that's right she reads you now... My wife and see what she has to say. Posted by: Contagion at January 13, 2006 01:39 PMI checked with TNT and she gave a squeal of delight. Which means "yes" :-) Posted by: Harvey at January 13, 2006 05:15 PMOkay, I checked with me, and with the exception of the second weekend, Feb is good to me. Posted by: That 1 Guy at January 13, 2006 07:08 PMYAY!!!! I'm game if my old man will agree...oh wait, he has to check with me and I say yes! Posted by: ktreva at January 13, 2006 10:33 PMNope, not able to do anything yet... 6 more months... and there is a chance. Posted by: vw bug at January 13, 2006 11:24 PMOkay, obviously the ball and ch..er wife says yes. Looking at our calendar she says either the second or third weekend in february is good. We will probably have to bring Clone with... stupid no-weekend babysitter. Posted by: Contagion at January 14, 2006 12:31 AMOkay, I seem to see a concensus forming for 18 February. Does that sound good? Posted by: Laughing Wolf at January 14, 2006 01:09 AMThe 18th is good for me. I can hardly wait!!!! Posted by: Tammi at January 14, 2006 01:50 AMThat might work... ;-) Posted by: Bou at January 14, 2006 03:38 AMSounds great! I will be talking to my hubby. I'd say I've got 50/50 odds. :) Posted by: Richmond at January 14, 2006 09:49 PMWish I could go... :(( I'm w/VW & JLB, Wish I could go too. My son loves those wolves. Sigh! Posted by: michele at January 15, 2006 01:21 AMI am actually considering it. It's only a 4 hour drive, very familiar with the drive (unfortunatly) and maybe I can get work to pay for it if I visit our customer for them? Hmmm... I'm going to have to ask work about that. Posted by: Machelle at January 16, 2006 01:19 PMUnfortunately, that is the weekend of my cat club's annual show, and I'm schedule to work that entire weekend. Gah!!!!!! Wish I could be with you!
