It's Not That...

There is not a lot to blog about, just not a lot of time. Huge project at work calling for some long hours and a lot of effort. Lots to do at the Lair, both in terms of the lair itself and the yard. A few other things going on as well. So, just saying that things will continue to be sporadic, esp. if we keep getting storms like of late.

Open Letter To The Lawn: There is no need to take the warmth and rain as a challenge, much less an invitation to unbridled growth. If you will see fit not to grow four inches in less than five days, both the lawn mower and myself as its mover, would be most appreciative.

There is a book (I never read it)titled "Revenge of the Lawn" by Brautigan.

Sounds like my lawn... an inch a day, I swear! It's out to kill me. Like my allergies aren't kicking my a$$ bad enough already.

... don't worry, bud... it is going around here too... overgrown lawn, and nothing to write about...

Let me know if that whole "talking to the lawn" thing works... I have some areas around here that could use a good talking to! :)

Grow a bunch of shade trees and put in a moss lawn. (There are some people advocating moss lawns - lots of advantages, #1 of which is that it never needs mowing...).

Also try creeping thyme as a lawn alternative - one of the low-growing varieties. Puts out pretty flowers when it blooms. Needs about half as much mowing as grass (maybe less - depending on varieties).
