Blizzard Aftermath

They are claiming 17 inches, and at first I was more than a bit skeptical.  That was before I found out that the snow was up to the second step up onto the deck.  There were adventures driving to the salt mine, and then home from the mechanics with Pups yesterday, but nothing too bad.  Worst wasn’t the foot or more of snow and slush on major roads/highways, but the idiots who seemed to feel that large and/or 4WD repealed the laws of physics…

Today, I dug out and I even took a picture, but can’t seem to find the card reader so it will have to wait until tomorrow.  Short version:  Deck path to stairs, stairs, path, 20x20 around the car, and then 200 plus feet (Tammi, Bloodspite, think from gate to the far end of the road) 99 percent by hand.  One percent was via vehicle to knock down drifts and such in the center, with final clean up via hand.  Worst of that was at the far end where the snow plows had been piling up massive amounts of snow.  Several hours work, and I probably should not have forgotten to eat lunch, but am bouncing back.  I’ve already had one Aleeve (and several forearm cramps after stopping), and am seriously considering a hot toddy of some type here soon.  Either the last of the Glogg I made or a good hot buttered Scotch (single malt, of course).

More soon.
