Well, it has just arrived back from Canon—I was starting to get worried that it wouldn’t be back when promised. While they said they only cleaned, the paperwork says they replaced the main chassis assembly and the slide chassis assembly, made other electrical adjustments, cleaned, and inspected. A quick trial shows it working well, with audio much better. Think that may well kick up several notches as I just bought Sennheiser wireless lapel and stage microphones to go with it. More soon.

May I ask how much it cost to get it repaired? And do you have to call Canon first to let them know it’s coming? I need to have the shutter replaced in my 20D (at least I think the problem is the shutter). And I’m assuming it gets sent to California or someplace, and not Japan…
