I mean, killing all those prisoners and never letting even one of their own much less the rest of us knuckle dragging killers in on it! Yet more proof for any who still need it that Cynthia is bat shit crazy and wouldn’t know the truth if it bit her on her ample ass. What scares me is that there are plenty of people out there who will believe it, probably the same wonderful bigots that think soldiers are mindless, psychopathic killing machines who killed hundreds of animals in the aftermath of Katrina in an orgy of blood lust. Most of the original posts claiming that are now missing down memory holes, and at least one entire blog that claimed that “soldiers” had gone in and killed a large number of animals, resorting to stomping and using broken glass to slit throats to save ammo, is gone.
At the time, I had looked into the claims—ludicrous as they were, but consider the irresponsible and inaccurate reporting of the most vile (and totally false) Lord-of-the-Flies-type rumors on almost all MSM—and concluded that there was no evidence that troops had run amok and done what was claimed of them in violation of the UCMJ. In fact, the originating post read as the best/worst of the old Soviet agitprop, save that I don’t think even Alexi would have taken it that far (then again, why bother when you know that you have friends that will do it for you).
I have no idea if an offer I made with Matt’s blessing, to move heaven and Earth for a full IG investigation run if someone could provide me with a location and/or unit involved, ever made it out too far. As it turns out, it wasn’t troops, but apparently members of the St. Bernard parish’s sheriff’s office that did the deed (with guns, no stomping, no slitting of throats with glass, etc.). I am of very mixed emotions on finding out that the charges against two of the officers have been dropped (insufficient evidence), but lawsuits do continue and the truth and falsity of various charges still have a chance to come out in civil court despite the rather ripe reputation of the Louisiana court/legal system.
Cynthia’s charges don’t surprise me, but I remain somewhat amazed at the open bigotry of the progressive left that underlies those charges and their ready acceptance by far too many. And, to think that this is the same group that readily and cheerfully calls anyone who disagrees with them racists (and worse). If they truly want to see bigots and jack-booted thugs, they need go no further than the nearest mirror. This election cycle has, more than any other, reminded me of why the Founding Fathers did not support universal suffrage; but, rather, sought a method or methods to ensure that the franchise of citizenship would be used responsibly by people proven to be responsible.
