Update On Friend T
Pour it on, please. Right now, he has been sent to Indianapolis, where he is to be evaluated as a candidate for a heart transplant. If he is a candidate, and that is not a given, then he has to decide if that is what he wants to do. I am going to continue with my own, asking to let that which is right be.

The thing with heart transplants is that once he’s on the list, he needs to remain in hospital to maintain his 1A status. All my former heart patients tell me this stay is worse than being in heart failure and not knowing when things will give out. And I can understand that. The only thing I could ever tell them is that the “wait” in hospital has to be weighed against the future. Is the prospect of watching family open presents on birthdays and Christmas, children walking down the aisle on their wedding days...is that something they, the patient, wants to see? Do they want to bounce grandchildren on their knee? Do they want to dance with their husband/wife a hundred more times? Love them, cherish them, and share their smiles? If so, then the hospital wait becomes bearable. For some, though, it’s too much and they opt out. Opt out of waiting. Opt out of hope. Opt out of a lifetime on anti-rejection medication. Neither choice is easy, but it takes a lot of serious consideration.
My prayers are like yours, Wolf. Let that which is right be.
